Snap a business card on your phone

You meet someone at a trade fair, they hand you a card, and you promise to call on Friday. By the evening the card is in a coat pocket and the promise is in nobody's calendar. Add from a photo, Bamya CRM's window for the phone, is made for that moment: one photo and one sentence, and the person, their company and the call are saved before you walk away.

How it works

  • On a phone, Add on the CRM's lists opens Add from a photo. At a computer, Send me a mobile link to this interface, at the top of the Add window, e-mails you a link that opens it on your phone.
  • Press Take a photo, point the camera at the card and press Take it. Another photo (optional) is for the back. A picture you already took works too, through "or choose one from your photos".
  • Press Read the card. AI reads the photos and fills in three tabs: Company, Contact and More.
  • Look over the boxes it marked. In More, write the task the way you would say it out loud, for example "call him Friday at 10".
  • Press Add to CRM.

What you get

That last press does the rest in one go, with a bar showing each step. It reads the task, checks whether the person or the company may already be in your CRM, and adds them. A new company comes in as a Prospect, the person as its contact, and the task with them. It stops only if it needs you, say when someone looks like a person you already have, and then asks you to choose in More.

How the task is saved depends on what you wrote. No day, and it is a reminder without a date. A day but no time gives a task due that day. Add a time and it becomes a call or a meeting in your calendar: a call on the number from the card, or a meeting at the address you gave or the company's.

More has two other boxes. Contact notes takes anything the card says about the person that has no box of its own, and Pipeline template starts a deal with them if you want one now. When everything is saved, Open their card shows the person, and Add a new one clears the window for the next card.

Good to know

Use Take a photo rather than the phone's own camera app. The camera app can close the page behind it, and then the photo never arrives. Photos are read once and not kept, and reading them uses your organisation's AI credits.
